A move to Florida Space Coast Including Brevard County and Melbourne
Historically, the body which gives the whole area its "name" is Melbourne, the oldest and best known community on what Floridians call the "Space Coast". Melbourne is located directly in the center of a long north-south corridor - coastal Brevard County - which is sandwiched between the St. Johns River Basin in the west and the Atlantic Ocean. It stretches from Palm Bay and other smaller communities in the south through Melbourne, West Melbourne, Melbourne Villagecentral Brevard to Viera, Cocoa and Titusville in the north.
And it contains a half dozen beach communities on a barrier long and beautiful island, stretching from Sebastian Inlet to Cape Canaveral. This "greater Melbourne" is one of the fastest growing residential areas in Florida, and it currently has the fifth fastest to appreciate home property values throughout the United States [USA Today, 2 September 2005]!
Yet Melbourne itself is an older does not remember so constructed, Florida.
The main streets are wide and the city is well preserved. It is art, fine dining health and education facilities, compare the offer with the best Florida 's major cities. It is only an hour from Orlando and three hours from Miami.
The situation is very easily accessible anywhere in the state. Even remote Key West is only a 5 or 6 hours drive away. As an outdoor and recreational opportunities, in my opinion it is one of the best places in > Florida. The beaches are not jammed, there is a lot of access and it is not wall to wall development.
When you approach the ocean over the high bridge over the Indian River (the Intra-Waterway or ICW), your thoughts sweeping. It is not blocked by condos and hotels, thanks to strict zoning laws set long before the current rapid growth and development in power. Firstly, there are 3 - and 4-story height limits, unlike what you find in many parts of South --> Florida.
On the other hand, there are many easy to find, easy to use "forever" beach access. Before the development of the conservation and Melbourne, and its beach communities were some of the finest public beaches in Florida have
Melbourne also has a great old town, downtown with specialty shops, antique stores, theaters, restaurants and more. There are (places, dining room, overlooking the Indian River Lagoon, the Intracoastal) and the ocean. Another Old TownSection, Eau Gallie, features art galleries and the county art museum.
In a recent study, with a large area employers in Melbourne had the employees who say it.
Melbourne is a safe place to live
It has great weather and plenty of sun
It is easy to travel and to work and there are good employment opportunities ..
There are a variety of recreational facilities.
It's easy to get involved in the community.
It is a great place for creativePeople.
Three out of four would be a friend or family member recommend a member to relocate to Melbourne.
Melbourne has the amenities that would be a larger city but it has a small town atmosphere.
I call it user friendly.
All this and the Real Estate is a good deal. As of this writing (summer 2005) single-family houses, minutes from the beaches to take account of 200,000 up to.
Melbourne, and the shore side communities West Melbourne and Melbourne Village, plus on the beachMunicipalities Indialantic, Melbourne Beach and Floridana (southbound), or Indian Harbor Beach and Satellite Beach (going north) is simply a great place to live. The same applies for the Melbourne area from Sebastian Inlet to Cape Canaveral. What a great place to relocate or retire.
