The Blue Springs State Park, near Cassadaga, about 40 miles (65 km) north of Orlando. The park is a historicArea that was home to the Timucuan Indians for hundreds of years and is now a leader in the fight to protect the endangered Florida manatee.
The Ocala National Forest is a huge reserve for its lakes and natural springs is famous, and offers excellent opportunities for hiking, canoeing, fishing and swimming. The park is located about 60 miles (96 km) northwest of Orlando and adjacent to the city of Ocala.
The reserve consists of three main areas of spring. The beautiful JuniperSprings has crystal clear water and a canoe is an excellent location. Salt Springs and Alexander Springs have trails through cypress forests of both.
A popular attraction is the Lake Eaton Sinkhole, which is 80ft (24m) deep and 450ft (135m) in diameter. It has a scale down. Nearby Lake Eaton is a popular place for the supply of swimming.
