Exploring Orlando's Loch Haven Park: A Center for Art and Culture

About 10 minutes north of downtown Orlando is Loch Haven Park, an area that has theOrlando a number of attractions, including Museum of Art, the Museum of Mennello American Art and the Orlando Repertory Theatre, the Orlando-UCF Shakespeare Festival, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and the Science Center in Orlando.
We began ourExploration with a trip to the Botanical Gardens Leu. At the center of the garden is the Leu House Museum, a farmhouse in 1888. It is situated on Lake Rowena camellias, one of hundreds of lakes in Orlando, who, surrounded by 50 acres of gardens, roses and palms. The complex also features an orchid house with one of the best collections of orchids in the United States. The Leu Botanical Gardens also offers a new influx of tropical garden, a vegetable gardenfull of herbs and vegetables and a garden of butterflies.
Just 10 minutes away is Loch Haven Park, one of the Orlando art, culture and science. One of the main attractions is Orlando Museum of Art (OMA), one of Florida's cultural gems and a popular destination for visitors from around the world. The collection of American art from 19th century to the present, African art and the art of ancient America. The current exhibition at the OMA is called "The Art of Motorcycle". The Mennello Museum of American Art is exceptional Museum's permanent collection of paintings by Earl Cunningham (1893-1977) at the center. It also hosts temporary exhibitions, publications and programs that celebrate outstanding traditional and contemporary Amercian artists. The museum's collection was donated by Cunningham in 1998 by collectors Marilyn and Michael Mennello in Winter Park, Florida, 22 years, and was opened in November
The> Orlando Science Center includes ten themed exhibit halls adults with a series of interactive activities for children. Planetarium shows and large format film theater Cinedome Adventure as well as five Discovery Laboratories can keep everyone busy for hours. Overall, the Science Center has four levels of hands-on exhibits, a bar with 200 seats, 7,000 square feet of exhibition space for national and international exhibitions. The Orlando Science Center is openMonday to Thursday from 09.00 to 17.00, Friday and Saturday from 9.00 to 21.00 clock, and Sundays from noon to 05:00 clock.
The Orlando-UCF Shakespeare Festival is a nonprofit professional theater, the audience produced professional productions of Shakespeare, and contemporary classical pieces and songs for young adults. The group also develops new plays from readings of World Premieres and fosters innovative educational programs that benefit the community.
As a professional theaterFor families in partnership with UCF, Orlando Repertory Theatre (The Rep) opened its doors Oct. 9, 2003. The theater focuses on classic and contemporary literature for children. It 's a place where young audiences to come and live the adventure and creative wonder watching their favorite characters come to life.
Loch Haven's cultural offerings continue with the annual Orlando International Fringe Festival shows. The 10 daysworld-renowned festival showcases original works, world premieres and first-class improvisational comedy, musicals, theater, mime and dance in over 500 performances of over 300 artists from around the world.
The sculptures outside the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra is the resident orchestra in Central Florida, appears in more than 105 performances each season.
