A guide to Orlando
Warning: This is the non-mouse version of the visit of Orlando, so if you have had your heart at all disappointed to learn Disney World can be a bit '. I recently spent a week in Orlando with my husband and in-laws. We rented a car and made a plan that has worked pretty well, so I'll tell you what we did with you:
Have a plan before you leave home
There is a wealth of information out there as things to do in Orlando andEnvironment according to your interests. Some suggestions are state / national / local parks for hiking / picnic / fishing / canoeing, theme parks, zoo / animal parks, and recreation such as mini golf and go-kart. Admission to some of the theme parks can be very expensive, so it's a good idea to find out where you want to go ahead of time and shows / tours, etc. They are interested in getting the most out of your day.
You can get a local guide by yourLibrary, bookstore or online. We have maps of our local CAA / AAA Auto Club so we knew the number of exit from the highway. We also bought tickets to Sea World by CAA discount, before leaving, saves $ 10 per person at the door (they have other theme park tickets and discounted).
When you look around online to see timeshare fraud offer discounted theme park tickets in exchange for real estate to go at their own pace. A good site for information is the officialOrlando Visitor Centre site www.orlandoinfo.com
Visit the Official Visitor Center when you
Visit the official visitor center only when you arrive (see address on the website above), is located on International Drive, the main tourist road. Be aware of other places, who call themselves "tourist areas", are just trying to sell tickets. The people at the officers are impartial, friendly and helpful. There are alsoCoupon books and many magazines that you pick up here. This visit will help you complete what you want to do things for you. (There are good for less than half price mini golf, if you go to watch 04:00). There were also coupons for various restaurants and shows them in various books.
Sea World
We both had an interest in this theme park, and it was worth it, because it includes the second day free with admission. All you have to do,the ticket is received before leaving the park confirmed the first day, the desk is on the left side of the door shows some of the ticket as soon as full production of a must-see. We especially liked the Shamu show, performances by dolphins and birds, and the spectacle of the sea lions. There is also a giant roller coaster called the Kraken, a roller coaster and log ride called Journey to Atlantis-style. It 's also a children's area with a place to eat (which allow you to bring your own food in thisPark) and small excursions.
Another highlight is the reception center, where the parent company Anheuser Busch makes every adult a couple of generous samples of their beers are! You can also stand Clydesdales and their Dalmatian. Shark Attack The exhibition is a must. All in all, the price is worth the whole 2 day (parking is an additional $ 10 per day, but a stone's throw of the game).
Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure
There are 2Universal Orlando parts: traditional, which shows how movies are made with some theme cruises, and more recently Islands of Adventure theme park is an all-out. Adults and children can spend all day here and full of happiness. Since I'm in the entertainment business, I would say that in reality, is back with the attractions.
If you read my article on overcoming the fear, the other day, must do two laps are the Duelling Dragonsand the Incredible Hulk. Hulk is actually one of the 10 best roller coasters in the U.S. - my husband saw on a TV show. Another has to do is ride the 3-D simulation of Spider-Man - but I did not want a simulation to me! Other devices that we have much appreciated the Jurassic Park River Adventure and Dr. Seuss Trolley Train Ride. The line up was not the day we went wrong, but if you are a busy time you have to prioritize the trips are allowed to leave the most important. Universal offers a limited number ofExpress Plus Pass, the holder, most skip the line and fit in more trips possible - can be purchased through the park.
Lake Kissimmee State Park
We spent the day with a stroll through this beautiful park, it was about 45 minutes drive from where we were to stay near Disney. And 'well-organized and the staff are very proud to work there. There are about 14 miles of trails he knew, and a couple of picnic areas. This is a loop to provide a clean look-out towerBut keep in mind that this is Florida, so really only a good look at a marshy area and a lawn ... but still a beautiful sight! I also noticed that there were many people fishing.
Central Florida Zoo
We spent a bit 'more than half a day at the zoo. This is a relatively small zoo with 400 animals and a botanical garden. It is not well developed as the other Orlando attractions, but I thinkcompared to Sea World, Busch Gardens and Disney's Animal Park, could have just not been able to compete anyway. I think this is a great zoo, if you have young children. They can be difficult to spend a whole day, so you could plan something else for this afternoon. They do not advertise, but they give you a / CAA AAA discount at the gate, if you ask.
International Drive
This is one of the tourist strip, as well asDisney and downtown Orlando. There is much to do here, and you have the opportunity to participate, on the road or tram to organize and cost of the asset and down the road. We are always happy in places that did not eat in Canada so that the Sonic Drive-through was the first time for us. We have not had time to do these things, but on this street were Wonder Works, Ripley's Believe It or Not attraction, tons of mini-golf and many, many places to eat and entertain your family. There area lot of hotels and shopping centers nearby.
Other things to do in the Orlando area who did not see Disney and its many theme parks, Busch Gardens in Tampa (which is a basic animal safari park roller coaster with some good enough), the Orlando Science Center (the most for children, but also has an IMAX theater and special exhibitions at times), many state parks and Wet N 'Wild (a popular water park).
Enjoy your holiday!
