10 Great Places to Go on Your 18th Birthday!

If you're looking for some of the best place to go on your 18th birthday then you're in for a treat! I am a personal party planner and have been so for many years. I have planned hundreds of 18th birthdays and over the years have realized that it is quite difficult to find, without help, some good places to go on your 18th birthday. Therefore i have listed below my top 10 places to go on your 18th birthday.

Remember, it's the most important birthday of your teenage years and it only comes once in your life, so don't make the same mistake I did. Make It Count!

So let's get straight into my 10 Great Places To Go On Your 18th birthday!

# Place 1: Host A Party!
This is the one of the most popular places to go on your 18th birthday and includes having it at home or renting a function room. If for whatever reason you don't won't to go to any extreme places to celebrate your 18th birthday, having a party is a great way to see your 18th birthday in.

# Place 2: Go clubbing!
One of the most popular places to go on your 18th birthday is going to a club. This is a very fun and memorable way to spend your 18th birthday and will involve a wide variety of activities throughout your night. Try to go to one of the more famous clubs in your city and dress to impress. Your 18 now you can start feeling like an adult!

# Place 3: Go Shopping!
Whether you have thousands to use on your 18th or hundreds going shopping is a definte must for your birthday. Not only is it fun to do but for your 18th you want to be look slightly different as appose to the old you. Buying something new to mark your 18th is a good way to feel as if your actually celebreating your adulthood .

# Place 4: Theme Parks
This is a very fulfilling way to spend your 18th birthday. If you're in to this type of thrill then i would definitely recommend finding and going to a theme park in your area. Try and go to a well known theme park in your city as this will make your experience a whole lot better.

# Place 5: Road Trip!
The reason that I love this one so much is it can fit into any budget. Going on a road trip with friends or family can be an enjoyable and memorable way to spend your 18th. If you love the open road at heart and have someone to visit many miles away then nothing shouts "adventure" like a road trip.

# Place 6: Casino
If you're the type of person that is "up" for a bet at the first glance of a gambling proposal then maybe the casino is for you. Find your nearest one, bring ID and have some good old fun gambling, but don't get too carried away as you may end up with no money at all!

# Place 7: Go to a music show
Always wanted to see Beyonce, Enrique Iglesias or someone famous live? Well if you can and they are appearing in your country go out and see them. Nothing completes an 18th birthday better than seeing your favourite artist perform. Even if there not available try and see some live music in your local area, it'll be worth it.

# Place 8: Go horseback riding.
This is a one of my personal favourites. I remember my first horseback ride... It hurt! But after I got used to the idea of an extremely powerful animal underneath me I really enjoyed myself. Horseback riding is a very calming and relaxing way to spend time being at one with nature. I recommended this for all those naturist's out there who would love the idea of riding off into the sunset on their 18th birthday.

# Place 9: Sky diving or extreme sports.
Sky diving or something similar like extreme sports is a very unusual but rewarding way to spend your 18th birthday. I guarantee that if you are in to this type of extreme thrill then you won't be disappointed. Remember that skydiving isn't for the faint hearted so if the sight from the top of a flight of stairs gets yours knees a bit wobbly then I would stick to something like indoor skydiving that is available in some cities worldwide.

Place 10: Rent a condo on the beach
Renting a condo or even staying in a hotel on your nearest beach (even if its miles away) can be a very relaxing and cost effective way to get away from your home town but still be in the comfort of your own country. This is one of my personal favourites so if there is a beach near you and you like a good view then spend a night down there. It'll be worth it.

Now the thing to remember here is your 18th birthday is a once in a lifetime event and you should really try your best to make it unforgettable, with any budget. I found out the hard way and would hate for you to suffer the same drag that I went through. So I have done the research and produced the ultimate guide on "things to do on your 18th Birthday", which explains fully the "Do's and Dont's" of your 18th birthday, including *101 places to go on your 18th birthday!

Best Places to Go for Winter Sun

There are many fun not-too-far-off places to go during the winter to get away from the freezing weather. My favorites are California, Florida, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Caribbean. (Actually I live in California, so I don't have to go there on vacation!)

California is my favorite state. I have lived there for about half my life and I never get tired of it. Both northern and southern California are quite exciting in very different ways. When people think of California, they usually think of southern California - the beaches, Hollywood, and Disneyland. These are all very fun places to visit. The three main big cities in southern California are Los Angeles, San Diego, and Santa Barbara.

Northern California is another world. San Francisco is a beautiful, large old city surrounded by water on three sides, the San Francisco Bay to the east, the Golden Gate to the north, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The Bay Area, the metropolitan area of San Francisco, is comprised of the nine counties along the San Francisco Bay and is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country. It includes San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, San Rafael, Santa Rosa, and San Jose.

Hawaii is the southernmost state. It consists of eight islands: Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and Hawaii. Hawaii is the biggest island geographically and home to the volcano Mauna Kea, the tallest mountain in the islands. All the islands were formed from volcanoes. Honolulu, the capitol and largest city in Hawaii, is on the island of Oahu. Hawaii also has many beautiful beaches.

Florida is another gorgeous state with lots of sun and nice beaches. Fun places to go in Florida include Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Daytona, and the Florida Keys, Key West in particular. Orlando has many theme parks, including Walt Disney World and Sea World.

From Florida it's easy to get to the Caribbean by boat. A cruise is the best way to tour the Caribbean Islands, which include the Bahamas, St. Martin, St. Lucia, Martinique, and Puerto Rico. The Islands are beautiful but very poor. However, the natives are quite friendly.

Mexico is another spectacular place to travel during the winter. Besides Tijuana, which is a dump, the only places I've visited in Mexico are Cancun and the Yukitan Peninsula, which are quite beautiful. Cancun is one of many resort towns in Mexico, built primarily for tourists, some others being Acapulco, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vaerte. To see the real Mexico, you need to take day trips from these cities. The Chichen Itsa is a fabulous Mayan pyramid in the Yukitan peninsula, an easy day trip from Cancun.

Free Places to Visit in Orlando, Florida

What comes to mind when someone mentions the action-filled location of Orlando, Florida, and the surrounding areas? Do you think of having your kids meet Mickey Mouse and other Disney Characters at any Walt Disney World theme park? Do you conjure images of the themed area at Universal's Islands of Adventure, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter? Do you bring up pictures of Elmo meeting Shamu at SeaWorld Orlando?

Let's face it -- all the excitement and family fun of the theme park capital of the world is expensive. If you go to any theme park in the area, be it Epcot or SeaWorld Orlando, chances are that you'll pay for more than the admission tickets and seasonal or annual passes. You pay parking fees, meals (including many breakfasts where you take pictures of your relatives and their favorite cartoon characters), and souvenirs that are too materialistic. Water parks also work that way too: unless you stay at a resort with one, you pay for the admission and parking if it has a fee. You may be wondering if there's anything in Orlando that is completely free -- somewhere where you don't have to pay at the gate or booth. My friend, there are great places worth visits that suit your above needs.

The Epcot Resorts Area: around the borders of placid Crescent Lake lie the resorts that are just a mere walk away from Epcot, where its signature globe of Spaceship Earth can be visible without paying to actually get there. Feel free to park on any parking lot of any resort, take a stroll, and admire the beauty of each hotel. If you love free entertainment and love taking pictures, head on over to Disney's Boardwalk and watch some street performers like jugglers and clowns. I recommend that you visit during Christmas -- the decorations are worth many photo opportunities.
Downtown Disney: although it's regarded as a shopping mall, with stores, restaurants, and penny rides wanting your money, it's a free attraction of its own. If window-shopping is not your cup of tea, feel free to take pictures of the window displays, store signs, and buildings. Kids will love the interactive fountain play area to cool off on a hot day and the LEGO Imagination Center if they love building their own creations with blocks. Like the Epcot Resorts Area, Downtown Disney is a free place to visit at the Walt Disney World resort -- who says that everything is not free of charge?
Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe: if you are a Catholic and want to place a basilica in your vacation plans in Orlando, look no further than the eastbound edge of I-4. Just minutes away from the excitement of Walt Disney World and other Orlando area theme parks, this church is a haven for those who want peace and quiet or for those who want to commit to going to Mass if any day of their vacations falls on a Sunday. Marvel at the main church - it offers some of the best stained-glass windows that are guaranteed to dazzle you. Also, meditate in the Rosary Garden, look around in the gift shop, and take pictures of the surrounding greenery and fountains. If you either want to foster your Catholic faith or want to get away from all the hustle and bustle the Orlando area is known for free of charge, add this basilica to your vacation plans or just visit it.

Orlando may be expensive in so many ways: you hand out lots of money for meals, spa treatments, theme park prices, souvenirs, and much more. On the other hand, it offers places where you can just get in without paying a dime. I strongly recommend visiting those above places if you really want a change of pace from riding spinning rides, meeting crazy movie characters, and above all, spending way too much money.

Best Places to Live in Florida For Retirees

The best places to live in Florida are not necessarily the ones that you would think of right away. When you think of Florida, what towns or cities come to mind? If you are like most people, you probably think of the capital, Tallahassee, and some of the larger or more famous cities like Miami or Orlando. But depending on what is important to you in a home and a location, you might find that some of the best places to live in Florida for you are a bit off the beaten path.

To determine the best places to live in Florida, its important that you first identify what kinds of traits are important to you in a retirement or vacation location. If you are simply interested in moving to Florida for the temperate weather, then you basically have your pick of towns in the state. In that case, the best places to live in Florida would be the ones that have cheap real estate, lower property taxes, but that are still in a size town that offers the kind of facilities that are important to you. You might choose a resort-style town for some good socializing - or avoid towns like Panama City where the college students tend to do too much socializing!

If you have family that you expect will visit you often and that you will need to entertain, then the best places to live in Florida are going to be more dependent on location than the previous example. For example, if you will have children or young families staying with you regularly, you might consider the city of Orlando with all of its theme and amusement parks. Or, you could pick out a location close to the beach where everyone can enjoy long walks, swimming, sun bathing, or even hobbies like metal detecting.

Also think about what needs you have now or could have in the future when you consider the best places to live in Florida. In particular, you may want to consider your current or eventual healthcare needs, if you know what they are. If you have a health condition that requires regular doctor visits, you won't want to live far from quality medical care.

Another possible factor in your selection of the best places to live in Florida would be whether or not you plan on continuing to work after you relocate to Florida. For example, did you know that the Tampa Bay area is one of the fastest growing in the region? You could move there or to the Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville or Orlando areas if you'll be looking for work.

Do you want to be surrounded by cultural diversity? That would point to the Miami or Ft. Lauderdale areas. Would you like to live in a town immersed in intellectual and cultural pursuits? Then consider university towns like Jacksonville or Gainesville. The point is that the best places to live in Florida are the ones that meet your needs. So your first job is to figure out exactly what those are!

Things to Do in Orlando Florida, Places to See in Orlando, and How to Get There

Downtown Disney

Downtown Disney is the premiere shopping and nighttime entertainment complex located inside Walt Disney World. There is no admission fee for entering Downtown Disney, and many families use Downtown Disney on their final day in Orlando as a chance to pick up last minute souvenirs and their last bit of Disney magic before heading home. Downtown Disney is split up into three sections: The Marketplace, Pleasure Island and The West Side.

The Marketplace

Most of Downtown Disney's stores are located in the Marketplace, an outdoor shopping mall. The main attraction is the World of Disney store, the largest Disney store in the world with over 50,000 square feet of merchandise. Almost every souvenir sold at Walt Disney World is found inside, besides those related to specific theme parks and rides. In the various rooms the magic of Disney is represented through huge sculptures, giant screens and even Audio-Animatronics. World of Disney is also home to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, a magical salon for girls wishing to become Disney princesses.

Inside the salon girls can receive a complete makeover from a "fairy godmother in training." If you are on a budget, keep in mind that packages range from $45-$180. Booking in advance is essential to ensure an appointment. The reservation number is 407-939-7895. You will be asked to provide a credit card as a guarantee you will show up for your appointment. If you didn't get your Disney fix through World of Disney, there are many other Disney stores to visit as well. Disney's Days of Christmas celebrates yuletide all year long and sells ornaments, stockings, plush and other seasonal decorations. Disney's Wonderful World of Memories is a great place for scrapbook makers, with a large supply of craft related souvenirs, frames and books. This location is also the only place where you can get a Disney postmark on your postcards. The Art of Disney store sells high end Disney merchandise for the Disneyana fan including paintings and sculptures from talented artists. Even if you aren't a collector, it's well worth of visit to enjoy the wonderful artwork. Goofy's Candy Company is a wacky candy shop with all sorts of sugary sweets to sample. For those brave enough to tackle the sugar rush, the Oreo cookies with fudge center and elaborate toppings are heavenly. The budget-minded should head over to Mickey's Mart, where all merchandise is under ten dollars. Pooh Corner is geared toward the stroller set, with merchandise related to the classic characters of Winnie-the-Pooh as well as Playhouse Disney characters from the Disney Channel. Those with pets at home should enjoy Disney Tails, which features Disney merchandise for your pet including costumes. Catering to the new fad of pin collecting, Disney's Pin Traders offers a large selection of cloisonné Disney pins. Mickey's Pantry is a one stop shop for Disney themed kitchen supplies, including ice cube trays that make ice shaped as the famous mouse himself. Team Mickey is a large sport store, with both Disney and non-Disney items related to all things athletic. Once Upon a Toy is full of toys and games for the young and young at heart.

There are other non-Disney stores at the Marketplace as well. Summer Sands is dedicated to the beach culture, and sells high end summer wear and Tommy Bahama Hawaiian shirts. At Basin, you can buy soaps and scrubs to pamper yourself with when you get back home. For the architect in all of us, the Lego Imagination Center is a large store dedicated to those wonderful colorful bricks. The impressively large sculptures outside the store made out of Lego are definitely worth a look over. At the Arribas Brothers glass shop, you can purchase beautiful works of crystal art. You can even get your crystal ware personalized from an artisan working at the shop. If you get hungry, there are also a few restaurants at the Marketplace as well. Rainforest Café immerses guests in a tropical rain forest, complete with animated figures and an occasional thunderstorm. Chocolate lovers will find heaven at Ghirardelli's Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop, which serves rich desserts and amazing ice cream sundaes. Delicious sandwiches, soups and salads can be found at The Earl of Sandwich. Pizza and pastas from the world famous chef Wolfgang Puck can be found at Wolfgang Puck Express. There's also a large McDonald's as well.

Pleasure Island

This area was once gated off and required admission to enter, now it's free to walk through but admission is required to enter the nightclubs. Parents with small children might prefer to avoid walking through Pleasure Island at night and instead take the path around it as Pleasure Island can get quite rowdy sometimes. There are five dance clubs including the Rock 'n Roll Beach Club, the 80s and 70s club 8 Trax, the top 40s club Motion, the hip-hop BET Soundstage Club and the techno-trance club Mannequins Dance Palace. There are also two comedy clubs. At the Comedy Warehouse, guests are treated to live improvisational humor and have an opportunity to affect the antics on stage. The most unique club on Pleasure Island is the Adventurer's Club. Inside you'll discover a bar themed to a 1930s gentlemen's club where costumed actors perform cabaret style shows and interact with the guests one-on-one. While the humor and atmosphere may not appeal to everyone's tastes, it is a very original concept and one-of-a-kind. There are a few shops at Pleasure Island, including one selling Harley Davidson merchandise. There's also Raglan Road, an Irish pub with good food and great live entertainment. We recommend making a reservation for Limo Service with Orlando Limo Rental to avoid run-in with the law after leaving Pleasure Island. Or you can check the GOAA "Greater Orlando Aviation Authority" for a list of permitted companies in Orlando.

The West Side

The West Side is home to many entertaining places to visit and dine at. The AMC 24plex Theater is a great place to see a first run movie while visiting the Walt Disney World resort. The two-story Virgin Megastore has a large collection of CDs, DVDs, books and related pop culture merchandise. At the House of Blues, you may enjoy a live concert from various bands that come through on tours. The world-famous Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba show features impressive acrobatic stunts combined with dazzling theatrical artistry. Hollywood memorabilia lines all the walls of the restaurant Planet Hollywood. Bongos Cafe presents diners with some delicious Cuban cuisine. There are many other shops, including a huge selection of magnets at Magnetron Magnetz, tricks and gags available at Magic Masters, all sorts of sweets at Candy Cauldron, and authentic American collectibles and memorabilia at Starabilias.

DisneyQuest

An attraction unto itself, DisneyQuest represents a more interactive side of Disney. Where most Disney attractions take you along for a ride, DisneyQuest features attractions that put the guests in control of the experience. Cyberspace Mountain lets you design a roller coaster and then actually ride it via a high-tech simulator. Music lovers can attempt to create a top 40 hit at Radio Disney Song Maker. The award winning Pirates of the Caribbean sends guests on an adventurous voyage complete with 3-D effects. On the Virtual Jungle Cruise, guests travel back in time and use paddles to virtually sail down a turbulent river filled with dinosaurs. In addition to the original attractions, DisneyQuest also features a large collection of arcade favorites, both past and present. Nearly all of the attractions inside DisneyQuest are included in the general admission price ($38.34 per adults and $31.95 per children), making it near nirvana for video game fans.
If you want to avoid crowds, do not visit Downtown Disney on Friday or Saturday nights, as many Orlando locals also use it as a nightspot. Downtown Disney is often a choice of guests on rainy days, but is honestly no better than a theme park to visit considering it's an open air environment. Downtown Disney has something for all age groups, but is probably best suited for pre-teens and older.

Places to Visit in Wiltshire

Wiltshire, in the south of England, borders six counties. It's beautiful chalk downland and wide valleys house many delights.

If you are wondering what's on in Wiltshire, there's actually quite a lot. Salisbury International Arts Festival is held every May and is usually on a specific theme. Some events are free, especially on the May Bank Holiday. There are also plenty of markets and music events happening all over the region throughout the year. Wiltshire has plenty going on.

The city of Salisbury is famous for its medieval cathedral and close. The building itself is beautiful and the spire, at 404 feet tall (the tallest in Britain), towers above the surrounding buildings, dominating the skyline.

Salisbury Plain is the site for the world famous Stonehenge, visible from the A303 road to the West Country. The plain is also the main training ground for the British Army.

Close to Salisbury is Wilton, the former county town of Wiltshire. The town is home to a fantastic stately home, still lived in by the Pembroke family. It has a stunning double cube room and lovely gardens which house a fun play area for children. Wilton House has a stylish Palladian Bridge and a noteworthy art collection.

A bit further afield is the National Trust property of Stourhead, near Mere. The gardens are beautiful at any time of the year, but in the autumn the different coloured leaves look especially nice.

Also worth a visit is the ruin of Wardour Castle which looks rather dramatic on a misty morning.

North Wiltshire has plenty to offer. Lacock is a National Trust village that houses Lacock Abbey and the Fox Talbot Museum of Photography. The village itself is not modern looking - it is old and charming and for this reason has been used in films such as Harry Potter.

Bowood House and Gardens near Calne make for a great day out. Gardens, a lake and adventure playground will keep young and old happy.

In Devizes you will find 16 locks of the Kennet and Avon Canal, all within 2 miles. Stop at The Lock Cottage Tearooms at the top of the flight for tasty refreshments and a good view of the flight of locks.

These are just some of the places that are worth a visit. Wiltshire is a great county to explore and should be on everyone's list of places to go.

Places to Visit in Florida Besides Disney

There are so many things to see and do in Florida besides Disney. It is a very hard place to get bored. Be sure to bring your walking shoes, bathing suit and plenty of sunscreen.

In Florida, the weather is typically nice but some what unpredictable. In the summer (June-August) the temperatures tend to stay in the high 90's with extremely unbearable humidity. Things start to cool down in September but not by much. Our a/c runs full blast through November on any given year.

In November and December we can open the windows often and enjoy the low 80's to high 70'. January and February are our winters. Every once in a while we will see highs as low as 50 degrees. Then the temps start to rise again and spring is phenomenal.

Contrary to popular belief, unless your pool is heated, you don't want to swim from about November to April. It's chilly.

What ever time of year you visit Florida, you will have a great time. North Florida, also known as the Panhandle, holds places like the state capital of Tallahassee, some of the most beautiful white sandy beaches on the gulf coast and a VERY long and boring 3 hour drive across I-10 to get to the next state.

As you travel south, you can visit places like Jacksonville- home of the Jaguars, Gainesville- home of the Gators or St. Augustine- the oldest city in America.

Central Florida is certainly home to Disney but there is much more to it than that. Fish on one of the thousands of lakes, drive through Clearwater Beach or visit a Tampa Bay Devil Rays game. East Central Florida holds amazing places like Kennedy Space Center, the Brevard Zoo, or take an airboat ride on the St. Johns River.

South Florida is known for it's glamor and crime. South Beach is the hot spot for A-Listers. Miami is full of culture and Naples is the place to retire rich. Be sure to visit Lake Okeechobee on the way down. Some of the biggest bass are caught here.

And finally, when you reach the southern most tip of Florida, you will know you've reached Heaven. The Florida Keys are one of the most amazing places to visit. Everyone should go at least once in their life.
